Les chutes de neige abondantes dans le Queyras en decembre 2008 (2m cumulé le 16 décembre 2008 à Ristolas!) ont provoquées de nombreuses grosses avalanches entre Aiguilles et Ristolas. Ce Secteur du Queyras à même été bloqué pendant plusieurs jours.

L'arrêté pris le 17 avril un arrêté paru mercredi au Journal Officiel reconnait l'état de catastrophe naturelle pour les 5 communes Abriès, Aiguilles, Arvieux, Molines en Queyras et Ristolas.
